Week in the Life

Wonder what a typical week looks like for our residents? Our residents can be as busy or as relaxed as they choose, and our community is proud to offer a variety of stimulating activities, programs and exciting outings for all to enjoy. If there is a special activity that you are interested in, we encourage our residents to work directly with our Activities Director to plan individual and group events.


Vesper’s Service at 4:00 PM 
Worship with your neighbors at this non-denominational service. Noah Pauley, a local minister comes to the community to lead residents in prayer and song. 


Strength Training at 10:00 AM
Work with weights and resistance bands to increase strength and flexibility, a key to wellness for seniors.

Mental Fitness at 11:00 AM
Once your body has been strengthened, challenge your mind with brain teasers and exercises.

Ceramics at 1:00 PM
Relax with local artist, Betty, to paint your choice in ceramic figurines. Perfect for a gift for someone special!


Grocery Shopping at 9:30 AM
Need to stock up on some basics for your apartment? Join your neighbors for a quick trip to Ingles on the Mars Hill Retirement Community van.

Bingo! at 2:00 PM
Try your luck with some friends.

Movie Night at 6:30 PM
Have you seen The Notebook? Bring your tissues and get ready to enjoy beautiful scenes from Eastern North Carolina.


Strength Training at 10:00 AM
This time we’ll be working out to the tunes of the 1960’s. Frankie Valli will get your blood pumping!

Mental Fitness at 11:00 AM
For this exercise we’ll play “You be the Judge” – where you get to tell true versus false stories from today’s news.

Pet Therapy at 2:30 PM
Do you love cats and dogs? Come visit Harper and Pam for a cuddly visit.

Poetry Reading at the Asheville Community Theater at 11:00 AM
Join your neighbors for a trip to the Asheville Community Theater to hear local artists and their works. Afterward we’ll have lunch at a local restaurant.

Movie Matinee at 2:000 PM
“Diana” is a movie documenting the famous life of Princess Diana, starring Naomi Watts.


Short Story Hour at 10:00 AM
Many of our resident writers will share writings they are working on with their neighbors.

Bingo at 2:00 PM

Classic Movie Night at 6:30 PM
You’ll be singing the theme song for the rest of the week after you enjoy “The Magnificent Seven” with your neighbors.
